Written By Renee Collins Cobb, M.Ed. and Warren Cobb, B.A.

The 9th Annual Josie Music Awards were held in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry on October 22, 2023. The Josie Music Awards are the largest, most respected, revered award and prestigious events and association in the independent music industry. Their theme is "Chase Your Dreams - Be a Part of Something Big."

As her original song says it best - "Watch Me Go" - Trudy is GOing BIG PLACES.

Kentucky's Trudy Sosbe Rose has been chasing her dreams for a long time

and at the Pre-Josie Music Awards Gala, she experienced a BIG moment as they called all of the nominees for Songwriter Achievement to the front of the room and as she heard her name called as one of ten who were honored for this highly esteemed honor from the JMA's, she was filled with joy and emotion. 10,000 submission for Songwriter Achievement just makes this accomplishment more sweet. Trudy, not only was a first time Josie Music Awards nominee but also became a first time winner at the event held at The Grand Ole Opry's Studio A.

In her acceptance speech, she honored her beloved state of Kentucky. Her Kentucky musician riends and fellow members of her trio "Girls with Guitars" were honoring her as well with congratulations and well wishes for what will most likely be a bright future for this introspective, and thought provoking and wonderful singer songwriter.

Her goal as a musician/entertainer is to help people forget about the stress and troubles of life for a few hours and just enjoy themselves. Her musical style is a mix of Classic Country and Classic Rock covers and originals. She has been featured in the 2022 Acoustic Guitar Project, Heartstrings Songwriter's Circle, Berea Arts Council Songwriter's Round andGeorge Molton’s Outlaw Poet’s Society.

And yes, she can add 2023 Josie Music Award Winner in the category of Songwriter’s Achievement to that resume and list of honors. She released her first CD of original songs in 2022, and just released my second album in August.

In addition, she was also nominated in three categories for the Appalachian Arts and Entertainment Awards. The future is VERY bright for Trudy Sosbe Rose. She gigs around Central Kentucky and always loves to speak with someone about playing at their venue or for their special event.

You can find out more about her music by visiting www.trudysosberoseacoustic.net or on FB-TrudySosbe Rose-Acoustic. Her original award-winning songs are available on Spotify, iTunes, etc. and on www.trudysosberoseacoustic.net.

She thinks music in itself is healing and meant to be shared and enjoyed and her fans all agree with her 100%.
